Sound in space

I finally got around to add sound effects to the game. Even with prototype sounds it ended up pretty well. It was also good time to tweak mass driver design – now I added visible rail, recoil, and tweaked all physics for more realistic approach. Previous bullet hell was fun, but not very good for actual gameplay.

Ship monitors now external g-force and we can sound hull creaking when it passes past 4G. Engine sound seems bit too loud, but thrusters and mass driver are quite ok. There no sounds of asteroid collision – and that’s exactly how it should be. Vacuum is a poor medium for sounds.

Perhaps on-board computer will play something for the pilot. I need to try these out.
