10 Shades of K37

I made new procedural materials for the K37 model. They have a quite complex model, but since I’m not rendering that model in-game it only affects renderings of the sprites. Procedural model uses vertex map to pinpoint areas that are exposed to danger and mathematical formula to generate plating and paint coat – together with wear and damage effect. This allowed me to easily create variants of ships in different levels of wear:

At this point I’m quite content with the ship. It looks good as a sprite and the materials are detailed enough to produce pleasant renders.

Next stop – inserting the new model into the game engine.
